Petr Masopust, PE, CFM

Petr has more than fifteen years of consulting experience in the water resources engineering field, specializing in hydrologic, hydraulic, and dam break modeling/analyses; inundation mapping; flooding hazard studies; evaluation of flood protection features and procedures for nuclear facilities; flood control planning and design; evaluation of levees and dams (assessments, inspections, and certifications); and dam rehabilitation design. Following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, he assisted the nuclear industry with compliance projects, including flooding walkdowns, flooding hazard re-evaluations, integrated assessments, and developing mitigation strategies. In addition to his post-Fukushima flood related experience, Petr is well-versed in NRCS Watershed Rehabilitation Program. He has completed numerous engineering studies in support of Supplemental Watershed Plans for NRCS dams and has extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the NRCS National Engineering Manual, including technical specifications and quality control requirements. He is also proficient with a variety of water resources modeling software, including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SITES, WinDAM C, FLO-2D, and RiverFlow2D.
