Dennis Johnson, PhD

Dennis is a senior hydrologist with more than two decades of experience in teaching, research, and consulting. His areas of expertise include hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, Geographical Information System (GIS) application and hydrometeorological applications and analysis. His specialized experiences include: open channel flow analysis, hydrologic modeling, dam failure analysis, sediment transport, stormwater management, surface water quality assessments, GIS database development, application of GIS to water and environmental resources issues. In addition to teaching numerous courses at the college/university level, ranging from bio-chemistry to water resources, education, and information technology, he has also taught more than 15 different courses in the continuing education area to hundreds of engineers and scientists throughout the United States and more than 25 countries throughout the world. Dennis has been also involved in Third Party Reviews of flood studies/calculations and flood hazard re-evaluations at existing nuclear generating facilities. Dr. Johnson has particular expertise in the following software applications: HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-GeoHMS, and ArcGIS.
