Severe Flood Modeling & Assessments

According to FEMA and statistics from the insurance industry, flooding is the number one natural peril in the United States. With a changing climate, the frequency and severity of flooding from various mechanisms (local convective systems, tropical systems, storm surge, dam failure, etc.) is increasing, posing higher risk of losses at critical infrastructure. We remain at the forefront of numerical modeling, using state-of-the-art techniques, to assess vulnerability, lethality, exceedance probability, and overall consequences due to flooding.

With a focus on insurance provider needs, we have developed a comprehensive and efficient process to better access and understand flood risk. Depending on the needs of the client, we can provide flood risk assessments for various types of and multiple (coincident) flood causing mechanisms.
